Helios Energy was founded to explore opportunities in the development of utility-scale ground-mounted solar parks. Since the launch of Ontario's FIT program in October 2009, we have expanded our focus to include developing large-scale rooftop solar energy projects. Between our two divisions, we have completed and commissioned 35MW of solar PV projects and currently have another 40MW in various stages of development around Ontario.
Ground-Mount Projects
Our Ground-Mounted Solar Division is focused on developing utility-scale (10MW+) solar parks across Ontario. Our most advanced projects are listed below:

Our portfolio includes another 30 MW of ground-mounted projects in earlier stages of development.
Rooftop Projects
Helios Energy’s Rooftop Division partners with commercial and industrial property owners to develop large solar PV projects on the roofs of large building. We lease rooftop space and our team develops and owns the systems, enabling property owners to receive incremental rental income while incurring no capital investment.
We have completed large and small rooftop projects in Ontario, and are currently developing a portfolio of 250 kW projects. To arrange a tour of one of our completed projects, please contact us.
Overview of a typical Helios Rooftop project:
| System Size | 250kWac |
| Building size | 50,000+ sq. ft. |
| Number of solar panels | 1,400 |
| Cost of Project | $1.5 million |
| Project timeline to completion (incl. regulatory approvals) | 9 to 12 months |
